Shameless self-promotion

My Under 30 column was posted a day early this week. Check it out here.

I personally see the value of a well placed swear word verses a constant rambling of them. It's like saying I love you to everyone, but only really meaning it for one person. Nobody gets which time you really mean it and it loses it's value. That being said, I'm not against swear words, I just like them to be used for effect, rather than filler.

"Sometimes I wish I didn’t write for a family newspaper "

it's a so-called family newspaper.

Sorry I told on you... very lame of me.

I completely agree with jen on this one... won't repeat it.

If we don't keep the (F word)* as "the one that goes to eleven" of swear words, then everyone will have to learn new ones and "A Chrismas Story" will be less funny. Isn't that a cultural tradition worth fighting for?

I'm a pediatric nurse, so swearing doesn't roll off the tongue, given the young audience I deal with, but if you ever play a boardgame or video game with me, you will hear the F-bomb like it was my mother tongue.

I've been living in the Appleton area my whole life, I didn't know they consider it a family newspaper. Maybe they should get some better stories in it.
