Suck/lame: Suck/lame
We continue our mission of clearly defining those people, things, ideas, thoughts, actions and other nouns and verbs of questionable suckitude with a survey that has kept you mildly entertained for months, "Suck/lame."
Sure, it’s a little self-referential putting "Suck/lame" on the “Suck/lame" chopping block. It might even be a little dangerous. I wonder whether this will cause the time-space continuum to collapse on itself. But I am willing to take that risk because, well, it’s an important question. We had fun for a while, didn’t we? We debated the merits of Bono, Kanye West and “Napoleon Dynamite” with a passionate eloquence not seen since the days of Lincoln/Douglas. But like my good friend B.B. King once sang, the thrill is gone. People aren’t voting much anymore. And I don’t feel the same enthusiasm, either. Sometimes I think it’s not worth carrying on. This could be due to the non-stop rainy weather lately, or perhaps there’s a deeper melancholy. Maybe I could think of better ideas if we tried harder. Or maybe “Suck/lame” has run its course.
So, is “Suck/lame" a worthy institution mired in a temporary slump, or a tired tradition in need of the Old Yeller treatment? In other words, does it suck?
P.S. Tom Cruise was voted soooooooooooo sucky. It was a embarrassingly not close.

I think it's jumped the shark, even worse than the phrase "jumped the shark" has jumped the shark.
I think it should be replaced with regular doses of "I Disagree With Matt Neistein." There's something EVERYONE can rally around.
Dashboard and Robin Williams were such awesome early suck/not suck candidates, it's easy to look back and say the idea peaked. I kinda miss that sharp-tongued 13-year-old niece (?) who used to roam around here.
By the way, Chris Craprabba still sucks.
sux
Bury it already.
Sadly this game lost its zest for me with the statement that "Bono does not Suck." Because, man does that guy bug me.
Its reminds me of that horrible moment when the phrase "thinking outside of the box" became a tragic cliché.
*Sigh*
Eh, suck. Sorry. It's lost its excitement. My only reservation is that Erin will have nothing to put on Page 16 of Weekend if the poll goes away.
Steve, don't take it personally. It's not you that sucks, but the vote is getting old.

suck. it used to be funny/thought-provoking. i feel like you've been slacking on it. none of the nominees induce good discussion or arguments anymore.
it's bailed the hay before the phrase bailed the hay has bailed the hay
Yeah, it has fizzled. I wouldn't go so far as to label it as 'sucky' especially since you've recognized that it isn't what it used to be. If you had continued with it without addressing this, it would have grown to 'total suckage'.
It's big-time suck!!!
Time for something fresh.
No comments from Steve in the discussion, no Thursday update on the voting, and no summmary of the voting result on Friday afternoon have really hurt the suck/lame franchise.
